Early learning begins from a desire to know from within. To a child or infant this means an item must be colorful, intriguing, able to be handled, safe, and hopefully functional.

Each letter in my name bench is removable, color-coded and only fits in the space it was removed from. Each letter is separated from the others, not placed in a large bunched-up oval. EACH INDIVIDUAL LETTER IS COLOR CODED. Example: In the name Sarah you can see that both A’s are the same color.  Since young children have a strong color association, it is recommended when letters are repeated in a name, that the repeat letter be the same color.   This avoids confusing them and is coherent with the  learning system within the bench. You might also note that in the Alphabet bench all of the vowels are the same color. 

The letters are loosely inlaid for easy removal. Motor skills develop quickly as the child removes and replaces each letter. By design a “guided learning" experience takes place. This experience can be shared by the parent identifying the letter and color or just by being nearby for positive reinforcement. The bench is great for placing their coloring book on, TV tray, sitting down beside grandma, brushing their teeth, just to name a few uses. The bench is long lasting and I now have 100’s of teenagers who still have their bench displayed in their room. My benches make excellent wood gifts or wooden gifts.
